Planned Giving at IGHL

A GIFT FOR THE FUTURE

A planned gift is a remarkable way to contribute to IGHL while satisfying your own financial, personal, and charitable needs. You can, and will, enhance the size of your estate, and/or minimize the tax burden of your heirs. Through your planned gift, you will directly impact the lives of those we support at IGHL for many years to come.

Planned Gifts include the following:

BEQUEST - Bequests can be as simple as naming IGHL as a beneficiary in your will or trust. The gift can be stated as a percentage of the estate, as a dollar amount, or as a specific asset.

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY - Making a gift through a charitable gift annuity allows the transfer of cash or property to IGHL in exchange for a partial tax deduction and a lifetime stream of annual income from the charity. Many advantages exist from this type of gift, for both IGHL and the donor.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST - A charitable remainder trust allows for the creation of a retirement plan that offers maximum income to the donor and makes a deferred charitable gift to IGHL.

CHARITABLE LEAD TRUST - Establish a charitable lead trust to make payments to IGHL for a set period of time. The remainder will then pass to the donor’s child or grandchildren. A lead trust could create significant gift and estate tax savings.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE - Naming IGHL as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy could result in estate tax savings for heirs. It is also possible to donate a policy that is no longer needed and qualify for an itemized income tax deduction.

RETIREMENT PLAN ASSESTS - Naming IGHL as beneficiary of part or all of an IRA or retirement plan could result in tax savings and, in some cases, income tax savings.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED PROPERTY - The donation of securities or real estate offers an excellent opportunity to provide a charitable gift with tax benefits, including avoiding capital gains tax on appreciation and a charitable income tax deduction equal to the full value of the donated assets.
