On Saturday, May 20, 2023, friends and family members of Marc Bornstein gathered at the Eastport Manor House to see the new Memorial Garden.

The Memorial Garden was created when Marc's siblings, Seth Bornstein and Edria Parks had asked to plant a tree in the backyard in memory of their beloved brother. Their idea sparked others, including Chris from our Maintenance team, who took everyone's ideas and turned this spot into something everyone can enjoy - family, friends, staff, and the people we support. 

Chris added a bench for everyone to relax on and planted some flowers in the garden bed. This garden sits right outside of Marc's bedroom window - where he lived until he passed. 

Marc spent the last nine years of his life living at IGHL, with the last few months being at the Eastport Manor House. He left his impression on everyone he met with his sense of humor.
