TITLE:                               Facilities Maintenance Technician

SUPERVISOR:                   Maintenance Manager

Department:                     Maintenance

FLSA Status:                     Non-Exempt

SALARY:                           starting at $23.39/hr

 

­­­­­­­­­­­­The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day to day repairs and maintenance of assigned residences including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, snow plowing and electric.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

E-            Connotes Essential Functions

E-1          Repairs, cleans and assists in the installation of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, laundry or sewer equipment and machinery.  Possesses ability to:

  1. Cut and thread pipes.
  2. Install sanitary fixtures.
  3. Make repairs to pipe lines.

E-2          Receives, updates and closes assigned work on his/her handheld device.

E-3          Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools in regards to construction, remodeling, repairing doors, window frames, floors, cabinets, furniture, moldings, scaffolds and steps.

E-4          Installs locks, refinishes furniture and makes concrete forms.

E-5          Cuts, shapes and fastens wood and related materials using power tools.  Erects building frames, lays flooring and joints, fabricates other wooden articles.

E-6          Inspects, repairs and installs a wide variety of electrical equipment, fixtures and wirings.

E-7          Installs and repairs roofing and siding; performs related mechanical operations.

E-8          Mixes and applies cement or plaster to floors, wall and ceilings.  Lays bricks and tiles and makes repairs to asphalt roofs.   

E-9          Prepares and paints or varnishes interior or exterior building surfaces and allied equipment.

E-10       Assists in snow detail as assigned.

11-          Maintains a clean, safe work area at all times and keeps tools and equipment in good working condition.

12-          Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

13-          All other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma/GED
  2. Valid NYS driver’s license
  3. Knowledgeable in the areas of: plumbing, carpentry, painting and electric
  4. Ability to work independently
  5. Must be able to work with electronic device, send and receive e-mail and demonstrate basic computer skills
  6. Must be able to lift fifty pounds
